They are Piotr Pawlak and Kamila Sacharzewska from Poland, Angie Zhang from the United States, Eric Guo from Canada, Martin Nöbauer from Austria, and Yonghuan Zhong from China.

In the final round, which is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, the contestants will perform one of Chopin’s two piano concertos or two of the composer’s three other works for piano and orchestra: Variations in B flat major on the theme of ‘La ci darem la mano’ from Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni, Fantasy in A major on Polish Airs, and Rondo in F major à la Krakowiak.

The performers will be accompanied by Poland’s {oh!} Orchestra under Václav Luks.

The participants have at their disposal 21 pianos from Poland's National Chopin Institute as well as copies of historical pianos and period instruments from other European collections.

All performances are streamed on the YouTube and Facebook channels of the National Chopin Institute, which is the main organizer of the event.

The competition's international jury will announce the winners late on Saturday, and a prizewinners’ concert will be held on Sunday.
