The tour’s itinerary also includes the cities of Gifu (November 22-23) and Kioto (November 25).
The programme of the concerts is a blend of staple Polish folk song and dances and modern musical and dance arrangements inspired by the music of Polish composer Wojciech Kilar (1932-2013), who drew heavily on Polish folk music, particularly that of the Tatra highlanders.
It is the ensemble’s seventh tour of Japan since 2002.
Based in Koszęcin, in Poland's southern Silesia region, the Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble was founded 70 years ago.
