Różycki collected the award at a ceremony in the Mont Blanc massif at the French-Italian border, at 3,466m above sea level, on Wednesday.

Lightbulb Thieves was granted the Prix Grand Continent 2023 for being an "outstanding European narrative," Poland's dzieje.pl website reported.

The Prix Grand Continent is awarded annually for a "great European novel" that can appeal to readers across the continent, the organisers said.

It includes a EUR 100,000 subsidy for the translation of the winning book into French, German, Italian and Spanish, Poland's dzieje.pl website reported.

Różycki is an award-winning poet, essayist and translator from the French.
