'The Peasants' movie soundtrack goes gold

Poland's L.U.C. & Rebel Babel Film Orchestra, along with singers Kayah and Ralph Kaminski, have been presented with the prestigious Gold Record award for the soundtrack to the film "The Peasants."

The Gold Record accolade recognizes the soundtrack's exceptional success in having garnered over 50 million listens and establishing itself as one of the most beloved in the history of Polish cinema.

The film itself has achieved immense popularity, reaching nearly 2 million viewers since its premiere in Poland on October 13. The production has also embarked on an international journey, recently hitting cinema screens in the United States.

Directed by DK Welchman and Hugh Welchman, and based on Polish author Władysław Reymont's classic novel, the cast of The Peasants includes notable Polish actors such as Ewa Kasprzyk, Sonia Bohosiewicz, Małgorzata Kożuchowska, Andrzej Konopka and Maciej Musiał.

Cinematography credits go to Kamil Polak, Radosław Ładczuk and Szymon Kuriata, while Łukasz L.U.C. Rostkowski contributed the remarkable musical score.

A Gold Record is awarded to albums that sell 15,000 copies for Polish musicians and 10,000 copies for foreign performers.
