As we reported in December, 2024 sees the 40th anniversary of Sinfonia Varsovia.

The orchestra's 1984 beginnings were already auspicious, marked by the cooperation of legendary violinist Yehudi Menuhin who said that “Working with no other Orchestra gave me as much satisfaction as my work, as soloist and conductor, with the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra.”

In February and March in particular the orchestra is offering a series of major concerts

On 25 and 28 February, the soloist is the Franco-Serbian violinist and conductor Gordan Nikolić (1968). Nikolić was the first concertmaster of the LSO for two decades before shifting his focus to work as a soloist and conductor.

On the 25th February (Sunday) he plays an all-Brahms concert in the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio, while on the 28th the program combines baroque and classics of the Second Viennese School (Berg and Schoenberg).

Poland's own Piotr Anderszewski will perform Haydn and Beethoven piano concertos in Gdańsk, Szczecin and Warsaw on the 7th, 9th and 11th of March respectively and the legendary violinist Pinchas Zuckerman will play Elgar, Mendelssohn and Mozart in the Polish National Opera in Warsaw (Teatr Wielki) on 25th March.
