If you live in Warsaw, can sing well and have always dreamt of singing a classic work in a large choir with an orchestra - now is your chance!

The Warsaw orchestra Sinfonia Varsovia has opened auditions for all signers to try out to join the Warsaw Civic Choir for a concert on the 13th April - the 200th anniversary of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and the 20th anniversary of Poland's entry into the European Union.

Beethoven's setting of Friedrich Schiller's "Ode to Joy" is the Anthem of the European Union. The first lines of Schiller's Ode in English are:

"Joy, beautiful sparkle of the gods,
Daughter of Elysium!

We enter, fire-drunk,
Heavenly one, your shrine.

Your magic again binds
What custom has firmly parted.

All men become brothers
Where your tender wing lingers..."

The entry form and the vocal parts to learn for auditions can be found here
