On April 11, 1923, the Association of Polish Radio Technicians adopted a set of recommendations for regular broadcasting, a date that is now celebrated as a milestone in the history of Polish Radio.
The Polish national broadcaster’s first trial transmission was aired on February 1, 1925, while the service’s regular broadcasting started on April 18, 1926.
To mark the occasion, Poland's largest radio broadcasters, public and private, have joined forces for a nationwide campaign under the slogan "I Love Radio," aiming to promote radio as an advertising medium.
Public broadcaster Polish Radio is resuming its participation in the annual initiative after a hiatus of several years, the polskieradio.pl website reported.
