Among the featured items are the act of dethronement of Russian Tsar Nicholas I, the manuscript of "The Peasants" by Polish novelist and Nobel Prize winner Władysław Reymont, and more than a dozen other historical documents.
These invaluable national heritage treasures can be viewed at the open-air exhibition in front of the Kordegarda Gallery of the National Cultural Center until July 15.
Organized by Poland’s State Archives, the exhibition is presented in a large-scale spatial form resembling "urban furniture," available to Warsaw residents and tourists around the clock, including an illuminated nighttime display.
The Polish National List of the UNESCO Memory of the World Program comprises heritage objects of fundamental importance to Polish history and culture. These documents, which record significant events and the activities of prominent personalities, are usually housed in Polish archives, libraries, and museums. With this year's additions, the list now includes 75 items.
The Polish National List of the UNESCO Memory of the World Program was established in 2014 by the Polish Committee of the UNESCO Memory of the World Program, which includes representatives from the country's largest libraries, archives, and scientific communities.
