Screenings run through May 18 in Warsaw, Łódź, Wrocław, Gdynia, Poznań, Katowice and Bydgoszcz, with Polskie Radio among the event’s media partners.

The official opening ceremony begins at 19:00 at Warsaw’s Multikino cinema, where Amber Fares’s film Coexistence, My Ass! will premiere.

Festival director Artur Liebhart said the opening night feature profiles Noam Shuster-Eliassi, an Israeli activist raised in the mixed Jewish–Palestinian “Oasis of Peace” community who uses stand-up comedy and her role as a UN delegate to promote coexistence.

Artistic director Karol Piekarczyk emphasized that, despite wide thematic scope, the festival’s documentaries all center on the human experience.

“We present everything from intimate personal stories to films about larger communities and major global events, but the human element remains paramount,” he said.

Competition programming includes 12 films vying for the Grand Prix in the Main Competition and 10 titles contending in the Polish Documentary Competition.

Polish Competition director Wojciech Diduszko highlighted the diversity of homegrown submissions, noting that selection criteria focused on “the very best documentaries produced in Poland over the past year.”
