The 62nd annual music festival in Opole will take place from June 12 to 15, bringing together some of the country’s most beloved performers and rising acts.

Canadian singer Garou, best known for his role in Notre-Dame de Paris and his successful solo career, will be a major international star.

Four days of music, memory and celebration

The four-day event, broadcast nationally, is one of Poland’s longest-running and most celebrated cultural festivals.

This year’s line-up features a diverse mix of musical genres, including pop, hip-hop, rock and classic Polish songwriting.

Highlights include Thursday’s “Debuts” concert, featuring newcomers supported by top musicians such as Natalia Przybysz, Kuba Badach and Mela Koteluk.

That same evening, a special segment will explore the history of Polish hip-hop, with performances by influential acts including Paktofonika and O.S.T.R.

Friday night will showcase new music during the “Premieres” competition, followed by the high-profile “SuperJedynki” gala, with appearances from stars such as Doda, Varius Manx and Myslovitz.

Saturday’s programme includes a retro-themed party concert and a comedy night featuring Poland’s leading satirical performers.

Garou headlines festival finale

The festival concludes on Sunday with two special concerts: a birthday tribute to acclaimed lyricist Jacek Cygan – with performances by Edyta Górniak, Ralph Kaminski and Garou – and a late-night memorial concert honouring composer Wojciech Trzciński.

That show will feature a wide range of iconic Polish vocalists, including Grzegorz Turnau and Edyta Geppert, under the musical direction of Adam Sztaba.

In previous years, many high-profile performers declined to take part due to the festival’s association with state-run broadcaster TVP, which was widely criticised for its support of the right-wing populist Law and Justice (PiS) government.
