International Book Fair opens in Kraków, southern Poland

The International Book Fair has opened in Kraków, one of southern Poland’s major cultural centres, bringing together readers, authors, and publishing professionals from around the world.

The event, which began on Thursday, 23 October, is one of the largest gatherings of its kind in Europe.

Nearly 500 exhibitors are presenting the latest book releases in the EXPO Kraków hall, offering attendees the chance to meet their favourite writers and explore a wide range of literature.

This is the 28th edition of the fair, which runs until Sunday, 26 October. The theme for this year is: “You are not a machine, you are a human”, reflecting a focus on creativity, human connection, and the personal experience of reading.

Visitors can expect book signings, panel discussions, and presentations, making the fair a major highlight of the European literary calendar.
