Springsteen said he wrote the song, titled Streets of Minneapolis, on January 24, the day Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse, was shot and killed by US Customs and Border Protection agents.
Renee Good, 37, a mother of three, was fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent on January 7.
"It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good," Springsteen wrote in a social media post.
In the song, the 76-year-old singer describes an immigration crackdown in Minneapolis and depicts residents confronting federal agents by recording their actions.
Springsteen, a longtime critic of Trump, also accuses his administration of "dirty lies."
He sings: "We’ll remember the names of those who died on the streets of Minneapolis," with a chorus repeatedly chanting: “ICE out now!”
