The celebrations mark the centenary of the acclaimed filmmaker’s birth and the 10th anniversary of his death.
The programme, prepared by cultural institutions across the country with support from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, will begin on March 6, what would have been Wajda’s 100th birthday.
A media briefing announcing the celebrations was held at Warsaw's Iluzjon cinema on Thursday.
Marcin Matuszewski attended the event to speak with Poland's Culture Minister Marta Cienkowska and Aleksandra Kalfas, deputy director of the Manggha Museum founded by Wajda in the southern city of Kraków.
