The programme features a selection of arias from Stanisław Moniuszko’s Halka and The Haunted Manor as well as Verdi’s The Masked Ball and The Force of Destiny, Puccini’s Tosca, Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana and Wagner’s Lohengrin.
Beczała will be accompanied by the National Opera Orchestra under Italian conductor Clelia Cafiero.
The recital marks the final concert in this season's Grand Voices series, which has also featured Polish soprano Aleksandra Kurzak and French tenor Roberto Alagna, Polish baritone Artur Ruciński and South African soprano Pretty Yende, as well as Polish bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny and Finnish soprano Camilla Nylund.
The series will continue in the 2026/2027 season with recitals by British-Russian mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina and Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński.
Earlier this season, Beczała performed the title roles in Umberto Giordano's Andrea Chénier at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and Wagner's Lohengrin at the Baden-Baden Festival in Germany. He also appeared as Manrico in Verdi’s Il Trovatore at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.
Next season, Beczała is due to make his role debut in Wagner’s Parsifal at the Met, where he has appeared in around 200 performances since 2006. He is also scheduled to take part in a gala marking the company's 60th anniversary at its home in Lincoln Center in May 2027.
