The awards ceremony was held during the launch of the 2026 Opera Open festival at the Ancient Theatre of Plovdiv.

The new awards were established by Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva, who created them to celebrate artistic excellence and the cultural heritage of the historic region of Thrace.

Orliński thanked the organisers and audience in a post on social media.

"I am thrilled about the award," he wrote. "I cannot fail to mention the fantastic audience that joined me ..., the fabulous ancient theatre and the whole city that I got the chance to explore."

The Thracian Awards recognise achievements across a range of classical music categories.

Earlier this month, Orliński received two nominations for Germany's 2026 Opus Klassik Awards. His latest album, If Music..., featuring works by Baroque composers, was shortlisted in the Male Singer category and for Solo Vocal Recording of the Year.
