On July 7, the Beatles drummer turns 86.
The parade is to be led by the Beatles Brass orchestra performing a selection of hits of the legendary British group, including, naturally, Yellow Submarine, Hey Jude and Yesterday.
The event is the brainchild of composer and music producer Maciej Werk.
He told the media that the idea of the Yellow Submarine Parade is to recreate the unique climate of the 1960 and 70s Beatlemania.
He added that the Parade will conclude with a Beatles Brass gig at OFF Piotrkowska Center, after which Łódź residents will record birthday greetings for Ringo Starr.
The day’s celebration will end with a meeting hosted by music journalist Piotr Metz, who has been presenting The Beatles in his radio programmes for over four decades and who boasts one of the largest private collections of the group’s recordings and memorabilia.
