The opening concert took place in a courtyard on Chłodna Street, with American clarinettist David Krakauer as the headline act, joined by flautist Ania Karpowicz and the Messages Quartet.

Concerts continue through August in courtyards and historic buildings across the city, many on the site of the former Warsaw ghetto, with a focus on Jewish composers alongside classical and contemporary works.

Agnieszka Łaszczuk spoke to David Krakauer about his musical journey and what it means to him to perform in spaces like these, and to Ania Karpowicz, who curates the festival together with pianist Marek Bracha, about this year's programme.
