The opera, titled Fuego fatuo (Will-o’-the-Wisp), was written between 1918 and 1919. It features a libretto by Spanish writer Maria Lejárraga and tells the story of a young composer, Leonardo, who is torn between his affection for the faithful and modest Clara and his fascination with the seductive Princess Lisa.
In Poland, the production will be shown at the Podlasie Opera in Białystok in the 2027/28 season - also within events marking the centennial of the International Chopin Piano Competition.
At the close of last season, the Podlasie Opera signed a letter of intent with Spanish partners in the project – the International Festival of Music and Dance in Granada, the Fundación Juan March in Madrid and the Teatro de la Zarzuela.
Presented by Elżbieta Krajewska.
