FOCUS :: "The Doll"
Two adaptations of "Lalka" or "The Doll" - the 19th century literary classic about love, wealth and social ambition in 19th century Warsaw by Bolesław Prus - are being released this month. One, the film produced by Giant Films and directed by Maciej Kawalski, opens in Polish theaters on September 30. The other is a series adaptation of the novel by global streaming platform Netflix released this week and featuring a different cast of actors.
