The Norwegian Arctic Philharmonic is based in Bodø and Tromsø, north of the Arctic Circle.

Founded in 2009, it comprises a sinfonietta in Bodø and a chamber orchestra in Tromsø, each giving weekly concerts in its home town.

Eight to 10 times a year, the two ensembles join forces for larger symphony and opera productions.

Przybycień’s three-year appointment begins with the 2027/28 season.

In the current 2026/27 season, Przybycień began a two-year appointment as assistant conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, working with music director Andris Nelsons.

Earlier this year, he won second prize at the Mahler Conducting Competition in Bamberg, Germany. He also won the audience prize.

Currently based in Zurich, Switzerland, Przybycień was raised and studied in Poland, achieving early success as a violinist before completing a bachelor's degree in conducting at the Academy of Music in Wrocław.
