The festival has brought together folk groups from Poland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Slovakia, North Macedonia, Hungary, Serbia, Italy, Turkey and Nepal.
Their performances are judged by an international jury in three categories: authentic folklore, stylized folk and artistically-arranged shows.
Side-line events include an enthnographical academic conference devoted to traditional wedding customs, folk art fairs, and an exhibition of folk instruments by local luthiers and craftmen.
The festival is held under the honorary patronage of President Andrzej Duda and the First Lady.
The event, this year held for the 51st time, runs until August 23.
