Anderszewski’s previous recordings for the label include Bach’s Partitas and English Suites, works for solo piano by Karol Szymanowski, Beethoven's Diabelli Variations and two late Mozart concertos.
In the coming weeks and months Anderszewski will perform the programme from his latest CD in a series of recitals in Ostrava, Vienna, Warsaw, Madrid, Barcelona, Geneva, Paris, Milan, New York, London, Berlin and Zurich.
Reviewing the CD for The Guardian, Andrew Clements wrote: “It’s a joyous disc, constantly engaging and hugely rewarding […] Anderszewski’s intelligence, lucidity and joy is undeniable.”
Born in 1969, Anderszewski is, next to Krystian Zimerman and Rafał Blechacz, among Poland’s most famous pianists. He studied at the conservatories in Lyon and Strasbourg, the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and the Music Academy in Warsaw.
He came to international attention with a sensational performance of Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations in the semi-finals of the International Piano Competition in Leeds, Britain, in 1990.
He has since then appeared in many high-calibre recital series and with leading orchestras in the world’s top venues. In 2002, Anderszewski received the prestigious Gilmore Artist Award.
