The museum now features a modernized permanent exhibition with expanded elements that showcase the many facets of Frederic Chopin's life. Technical changes have allowed for the addition of many original objects to the exhibition, including a portrait of Chopin painted by his close friend Teofil Kwiatkowski.
Visitors will be able to enjoy three cyclical displays featuring Chopin's musical manuscripts, letters, and a conservation object.
On Saturday, the opening day, visitors can also see Chopin's letters to his friends Wojciech Grzymała and George Sand, as well as a satirical portrait of the composer made by Sand.
The museum will also have a temporary exhibition around Cyprian Kamil Norwid's poem "Chopin's Piano" in reference to the 160th anniversary of the January Uprising.
The museum's Concert Hall will also host piano recitals on weekends, and Tuesday concerts in the "Young Talents" series will resume.
To celebrate the long May weekend, the museum will remain open on Monday, May 1st, and the price of a ticket will include the opportunity to listen to live Chopin music performed by young pianists from April 29th to May 3rd.
The Chopin Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
