Celebrating  the 45th anniversary of inscribing Krakow on the UNESCO World Heritage List

The first two sites in Poland,  inscribed on the World Heritage List were Wieliczka Salt Mine and Historic Centre of Kraków, on September 7th 1978.The southern Polish city,once the capital of Poland, has been celebrating its jubilee since the beginning of the year. New signs welcoming UNESCO to Kraków have appeared on the entrance roads. A commemorative plaque was unveiled at the entrance of the Royal Road to the Old Town, under the Barbican.

In Focus, Robert Piaskowski, the plenipotentiary of the mayor of Krakow for culture, underlines that the 45th anniversary of Krakow being on UNESCO World Heritage list is an opportunity to take a look back at how the city has changed since 1978.
