The event is part of a four-day festival celebrating Paso Robles' rich heritage and its most renowned resident, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, a virtuoso Polish pianist, composer and statesman.

Paderewski was not only a musician, but also a landowner, grower and winemaker. The Paderewski Vineyard near Paso Robles remains a major local attraction.

Krzyżowski's recital in Paso Robles on Saturday will be followed by performances in Los Angeles on Sunday and Seattle on Tuesday, November 7.

Earlier this week, Krzyżowski, 24, appeared during the Chopin & Friends Festival in New York.

The all-Polish programme of Krzyżowski’s US tour comprises a selection of works by Paderewski, Chopin and Karol Szymanowski.

Last year, Krzyżowski won the 12th International Paderewski Piano Competition in the north-central Polish city of Bydgoszcz.
