Entitled Psalms of Peace and Thanksgiving, the concert was a mark of gratitude for the beatification of the Ulma family in September, according to organisers, including the Polish government.
Acts performing in the prestigious Auditorium della Conciliazione in the Italian capital included Hasidic singer Shulem Lemmer and Poland's Izabela Szafrańska and the Golec uOrkiestra, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
In the spring of 1944, German police discovered that the Ulma family had been hiding Jewish people on their farm in the village of Markowa.
On March 24, 1944, the Germans shot the eight Jews dead and murdered the entire Ulma family, Józef, Wiktoria, who was seven months pregnant, and their six children, Stasia, Basia, Franek, Władzio, Antoś and Marysia, aged 1 to 7, according to historians.
The Ulmas were posthumously honoured by Israel for their heroism with the title of Righteous Among the Nations.
On September 10, they were beatified by the Catholic Church at a ceremony in their native village of Markowa, in southeastern Poland, marking the last step before sainthood.
