The National Opera evening features arias and chorus excerpts from operas by Puccini, Rossini, Cilea, Leoncavallo, Verdi, Gounod, and Massenet, with highly acclaimed South African soprano Pretty Yende and American tenor Michael Fabiano as the soloists.
The Chorus and Orchestra of the Polish National Opera is conducted by the company’s Music Director Patrick Fournillier.
The Warsaw Philharmonic invites music lovers for a concert performance of Ferenc Lehar’s The Merry Widow. Premiered in Vienna in 1905, it is one of the most celebrated operettas in the history of the genre.
Łukasz Borowicz is on the conductor’s podium and the cast includes top Polish soloists.
The performance is to be repeated on January 7.
Special New Year’s Eve concerts are to be held in philharmonic halls and opera houses in many Polish cities.
