The show brings together a selection of his photographs spanning the years 2010 to 2022.

Kowalski, 47, has won an international reputation for his aerial photography. An architect by profession, he has been photographing landscapes from above ground level for over 25 years.

As a paraglider, a pilot of small aircraft and a gyrocopter, he flies into the air, up to 150 metres above ground level, with an engine strapped to his back.

The artist’s bio, published on the Atlas Gallery website, says that “the flight is for Kowalski not only a way to capture the world beneath, but it becomes a spiritual journey that reveals universal truths about the relationship between man and nature, about the past and the present, and about one’s own personal truth and the way to get there.”

Kowalski’s abstract photographs, which often look more like paintings, have been shown in many European countries and the United States. His honours include the Sony World Photography Award, the World Press Photo Award, and the Picture of the Year International.

The exhibition at London’s Atlas Gallery runs until March 16.
