The newspaper described the annual event as “a heavy-hitting festival that consistently pulls in big names.”
Under the headline "What do people say about it?" The Guardian writes: “They pack a hell of a lot into this narrow airstrip in a peaceful, picturesque corner of Europe."
This year's Open’er, scheduled for July 3-6, promises to bring together acts such as Foo Fighters, Dua Lipa, Doja Cat, Ice Spice, and Michael Kiwanuka.
Launched in 2002, Open’er has attracted some of the top names in pop, rap, electronics and rock, including Sex Pistols, Pearl Jam, Prince, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
Other performers have included Radiohead, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Coldplay, Fatboy Slim, Lauryn Hill, The White Stripes, Massive Attack, Drake and Björk.
The Guardian’s list of Europe’s best music festivals also includes Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Roskilde in Denmark, Mad Cool in Madrid, Colours of Ostrava in the Czech Republic, Electric Picnic in Ireland, and Earth Garden in Malta.
