Poland's Ewa Bogusz-Moore named the Cologne Philharmonic's new director

The National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) in Katowice will have to find a new director - as its current boss, Ewa Bogusz-Moore, will take up a new, prestigious position in Germany.

"The international world of arts will gain a strong Polish representative! Ewa Bogusz-Moore, the NOSPR director, will become the new artistic director of the Koelner Philharmonic in 2025. Ewa, you have set the bar high for the future NOSPR director candidates"

- wrote the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Hanna Wróblewska, posting this congratulation note on her X profile. She also expressed her joy at this nomination in an interview with Polish Radio.

Ewa Bogusz-Moore is an esteemed Polish cellist and manager of culture. Since September 2018, she has been the general and program director of Katowice's NOSPR. In October 2022, she simultaneously took up the co-president position at the European Union Youth Orchestra.

The Pole is to start directing the German orchestra in Cologne from August 1, 2025.
