Such a concert had never been seen in Poland before. For the first time, in two different locations in the country, the audience could watch in real-time the vocal performances of two artists – Taco Hemingway and Dawid Podsiadło.
Taco Hemingway (Filip Szcześniak), the first rapper in history to fill Warsaw's National Stadium during a solo performance, connected during his concert with Dawid Podsiadło, who was singing at the same moment in Silesia. A total of 150,000 fans followed the singers.
The idea for the joint performance was inspired by the legendary 2019 concert, when Podsiadło and Hemingway appeared together on one stage. Before the pandemic, they were able to fill a stadium with a combined audience. Over the years, their popularity grew so much that now their audiences fit into separate stadiums during solo performances. "We are in the future, Dawid, it's amazing!" the rapper exclaimed from the stage while revealing the surprise prepared for their fans.
Taco Hemingway opens up about depression
During the unique event as part of the "1-800 Tour," Taco Hemingway admitted that he suffers from depression and urged young people not to hesitate to seek help.
"I slept for several hours a day. I did something I had never done in my life, which was to simply tell my loved ones. I didn't want to bring it up because I thought: Everyone has their own life, everyone has their burdens, I don't want to unload mine on anyone, but I swear it got so bad that I had to," Taco Hemingway said.
"So I wanted to appeal to you never to think you're alone with anything. Always tell your people if you have depression, I beg you, because it is something that destroys you if you don't tell anyone," added the artist, who was accompanied on stage by stars such as Daria Zawiałow, Bedoes 2115, OKI, and Edyta Bartosiewicz.
