The Baltic Opera Festival, spearheaded by celebrated bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny and cast to be one of the biggest outdoor opera events in Europe, came to the Tricity in its third edition; and with an intent to relate to crucial contemporary issues via a complexity of emotions, rather than stark statements with political slant.
This year's programme featured productions of Richard Strauss's "Salome", a staged version of Krzysztof Penderecki's "St.Luke Passion", Alek Nowak's "Voice of a Monster" and a multimedial Schubert's "Winterreise".
Tomasz Konieczny was speaking to Elżbieta Krajewska.
