Jan Komasa’s English-language debut ‘Good Boy’ to premiere at Toronto Film Festival

Polish filmmaker Jan Komasa will premiere his first English-language film, the darkly comic thriller Good Boy, at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (4–14 September 2025) in Canada.

Komasa, best known for his Oscar-nominated Corpus Christi and the acclaimed drama Suicide Room, has had Good Boy selected for TIFF’s prestigious Centrepiece section, which highlights some of the year’s most outstanding world cinema.

Good Boy follows 19-year-old criminal Tommy, who is kidnapped and forced into an unconventional rehabilitation by a married couple.

The cast includes Stephen Graham (Boiling Point), Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie), and Anson Boon (Pistol). Filming took place in Yorkshire and Warsaw, wrapping up in October 2024.
