The two performed a duet during a rehearsal at the Forest Opera in Sopot ahead of this year’s Top of the Top Sopot Festival.

Natalia Grosiak shared the rehearsal on her social media, unaware that it would become their final recording together.

Stanisław Soyka passed away just before he was scheduled to take the stage, casting a shadow over the festival, which had been planned to conclude with all artists performing one of his songs.

Grosiak described the rehearsal as a dream come true, calling the chance to perform alongside Soyka “a fulfillment of my dreams.”

Speaking on TVN24’s Fakty po Faktach, Grosiak recalled learning of Soyka’s death just 20 minutes before she was due to perform:

“I was in the dressing room, ready, made up, dressed, waiting for the signal from production. Suddenly, the director came and said that something had happened, but I didn’t know what. Later we learned of his death. They kept it from us to protect us from shock.”

She also recounted Soyka’s haunting words during the rehearsal: “I don’t know if I’ll make it to tomorrow,” which now carry a deeply poignant significance for her.
