Wojdalska, 26, is among eight semifinalists selected from 36 candidates who took part in an online recital that concluded on September 14.
Other semifinalists come from the United States, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Switzerland and Germany.
The solo recital round will take place on November 6 and 7, followed by the chamber music stage and presentations of candidates’ artistic projects.
Finalists will perform a concerto a concerto on November 12 with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande conducted by Cornelius Meister.
Wojdalska received her early musical training in Warsaw. She then studied at the Royal College of Music in London and in Switzerland. She earned a master’s degree in 2023 at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, where she is continuing her education.
A prizewinner of numerous competitions in Poland and abroad, she has performed at venues including Vienna’s Musikverein, London’s Wigmore Hall and Zurich’s Tonhalle.
Last year she won second prize at the Primrose International Viola Competition in Los Angeles.
