The programme of the tour focuses on Polish music, featuring the Polish Fantasy by the legendary pianist, composer and statesman Ignacy Jan Paderewski and Chopin’s Piano Concertos. The soloists are Martha Argerich, Ivo Pogorelich, Aimi Kobayashi and Kyohei Sorita.
In addition to Polish music, the tour’s programme also includes works by Beethoven, Mozart and Dvořák.
Janusz Marynowski, the Director of Sinfonia Varsovia, told the media: “It is with great joy that Sinfonia Varsovia returns to Japan – a country whose audiences have always welcomed us with warmth and profound musical understanding. For us, this tour is not only a celebration of Chopin, but also an encounter of cultures through music.”
The tour is part of a series of events organised by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and financed by Poland’s Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, within the cultural programme accompanying Poland’s participation in EXPO 2025.
