In November 1965, Polish bishops attending the Second Vatican Council sent a letter to their German counterparts that would become a milestone in post-war relations.

Penned by Wrocław’s Bishop Bolesław Kominek, it called for mutual forgiveness at a time when both nations were still healing from the wounds of war.

Though the letter made no mention of music, the cultural and spiritual exchanges between Poland and Germany have long resonated through Wrocław’s artistic life.

The concert, led by Andrzej Kosendiak and performed by the Wrocław Baroque Ensemble with pianist Piotr Pawlak, brings together works by Zieleński, Mielczewski, Bach and Chopin – a programme that transforms history into harmony.

According to the National Forum of Music (NFM) in Wrocław, a major concert hall in southwestern Poland, all tickets for the event have already sold out.
