Posting on social media on Monday, 22 December, Dudziak began her message with a simple full stop, followed by the words: “Sorrow is not forever… love is!”
Urbaniak was described as her former husband, a dear friend, and the father of their children, Kasia and Mika (Michelle - ed.), while she also acknowledged him as the current husband of Dorota.
In the moving tribute, Dudziak wrote that he was “encoded in every cell of my body” and that the word “together” had defined their relationship for many years.
“I will be grateful to him forever for being part of my life, for so beautifully shaping our shared future, and for gifting the world music that will remain with us forever,” the singer added.

The acclaimed musician was also remembered online by his daughter Mika, who shared an archival childhood photograph on Instagram.
“Daddy, we love you. Sleep with the angels,” she said in the post.
Michał Urbaniak was a pioneering jazz musician, composer and arranger, widely regarded as one of the architects of jazz fusion.
In 1973 he left Poland for New York, where he built an international career, recording dozens of original albums, including a landmark collaboration with the legendary Miles Davis.
He performed alongside global stars such as Quincy Jones, Billy Cobham and Herbie Hancock, composed music for film, and made history as the first violinist in the world to play a self-designed five-string electric violin.
After his death, his wife Dorota “Dosia” Urbaniak paid tribute to him, writing that “he lived and expressed himself through music."

Paweł Brodowski, a Polish music journalist and double bassist, also paid tribute by sharing an archival photograph of Michał Urbaniak with his then wife Urszula Dudziak, taken during their joint concerts on Manhattan in the 1970s.
Brodowski confirmed, citing Dudziak’s words, that she and their daughters had been with Urbaniak in hospital just two hours before his death.
“Kasia, Mika, Dosia and I were with him,” Dudziak said. “We spoke to him and gently massaged his hands and feet. Since his fall last Thursday he had not regained consciousness, but I believe he felt our presence and passed away peacefully.”
