The Chloé Zhao-directed drama, which received six Golden Globe nominations, also won the award for Best Motion Picture – Drama.

Buckley, who had previously been recognised with a Critics’ Choice Award for the same role, emphasised the collaborative nature of the production, highlighting the contributions of Polish crew members alongside Irish collaborators and Zhao’s international team.

Key members of the production included cinematographer Łukasz Żal, costume designer Małgorzata Turzańska, and producer Tomasz Sternicki, all of whom Buckley singled out as integral to bringing the story to the screen.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dublin extended its official congratulations via social media, thanking Buckley “for such sincere and warm words directed to the Polish team working on the movie 'Hamnet'.”

Hamnet tells a story rooted in British history, and critics have noted that its emotional impact lingers long after viewing.

Zhao’s direction and the team’s craftsmanship were widely praised, with many highlighting the film’s ability to leave audiences visibly moved.
