The 23-year-old secured 32 percent of the public vote, beating seven other acts who performed in Saturday's final on TVP1, Poland's public broadcaster.

The results were announced on Sunday on TVP2's morning programme.

Szemplińska has described "Pray" – a blend of R&B, rap and gospel – as "a manifesto of fighting for your dreams, for freedom, for yourself".

The singer is no stranger to Eurovision.

She won Poland's 2020 national selection with "Empires", but never got to compete in Rotterdam after the contest was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Poland subsequently chose a different act for the 2021 contest.

A three-time talent show winner, Szemplińska released her debut studio album Nie wracam in 2024.

She will perform "Pray" in one of the Eurovision semi-finals in Vienna, scheduled for 12 and 14 May.
