The top prize went to American pianist Edward Leung, while third prize was awarded to his compatriot Ariela Bohrod.
Wierciński, 30, studied at the Music Academy in Katowice, southern Poland, the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria, and the Royal College of Music in London.
He is a prizewinner of numerous national and international piano competitions, including those in Vienna, Naples and Budapest. He was a semifinalist at the 2021 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
He has given recitals in most European countries, as well as in Brazil, Canada, China, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore and the United States.
In the finals of the Paris competition, Wierciński performed Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1.
Founded in 1997, the International Albert Roussel Piano Competition celebrates the legacy of Albert Roussel, one of France's leading composers of the interwar period.
