Entitled Non-Fiction: Piano Concerto in Four Movements, the work is inspired by the story of the young music prodigy Josima Feldschuh, who was forced into the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II.
As the Lincoln Center writes on its website, "Rani explores Feldschuh's short life through the lens of contemporary Ukraine and Gaza."
Rani will perform the piece at the Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall, accompanied by the Warsaw-based 45-member Sinfonia Varsovia, with drummer Valentina Magaletti and saxophonist Jack Wyllie as special guests.
The event is scheduled for October 23.
Earlier this year, Rani won the European Composer Award for best original score at the 2026 European Film Awards.
She was honoured for her score for Sentimental Value, a family drama by Norwegian director Joachim Trier.
Rani, 36, is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and has built a successful career as a pianist, composer and singer, blending jazz, classical and electronic influences.
Her previous international work includes the score for The Summer Book, directed by Charlie McDowell and adapted from Tove Jansson's novel of the same title.
