The recording was made by the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Sakari Oramo for the Chandos label.
It features Bacewicz's Symphony No. 2 (1950), Concerto for Piano and Orchestra (1949), with Peter Donohoe as the soloist, and Concerto for Large Symphony Orchestra (1962).
Volume 1 of Bacewicz’s Orchestral Works, also recorded by the BBC SO under Oramo and released in 2023, featured Symphonies Nos. 3 & 4 and the Overture.
The Gramophone Classical Music Awards are presented annually by the British magazine in a number of categories, including contemporary music, early music, choral, opera, chamber, song, and voice and ensemble.
In an article on the "surging interest in Polish female composers in the international musical circuit" published in its July issue, Gramophone magazine highlighted the ongoing revival of interest in Bacewicz, describing her as a "long-neglected" composer.
The magazine wrote that Bacewicz’s music "is becoming a feature of the world's most distinguished concert halls" while new recordings continue to appear, including symphony cycles by the BBC and WDR Symphony Orchestras and an award-winning recording of her string quartets by Poland's Silesian Quartet.
"It is rare to come across a neglected compositional voice that remains so strong; that speaks to both its own turbulent time and ours," Gramophone added.
Bacewicz died in 1969 at the age of 60.
