The suspect, identified only as Maksym S., was detained on December 4 by Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW), according to Stanisław Żaryn, spokesman for the country’s security services chief.

The detained man recently converted to Islam and is believed to have been planning an attack on a shopping mall in the eastern Polish town of Puławy, Żaryn said, as quoted by state news agency PAP.
