Michał Strzelecki, director of the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Manufacturers, told the Puls Biznesu newspaper: “The European market is becoming too tight. Realising this, Polish producers are increasingly trying to export beyond the continent.
“The new year will see an increase in efforts to enter more distant markets, such as the United States, Canada, India, and the Middle East.”
Puls Biznesu reported that total Polish furniture exports are estimated to have reached EUR 10.9 billion in 2019.
Industry insiders were cited as saying that Poland could overtake Germany within a few years to become the world’s second-largest furniture exporter, behind China.
