Polish inflation at 2.7% in January: stats office

Inflation in Poland stood at 2.7 percent in year-on-year terms in January, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said in an estimate on Monday.

The figure was 0.3 percentage points higher than forecast by economists polled by Poland’s PAP news agency.

In Decemberthe prices of consumer goods and services in Poland were 2.4 percent higher than in the same month a year earlier, according to the Central Statistical Office.

Poland's President Andrzej Duda last month signed the country’s budget for 2021, which expects the economy to grow 4 percent, with inflation targeted at 1.8 percent.
