The suspects were tracked down by Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW), according to Stanisław Żaryn, spokesman for the country’s security services chief.

"The detained persons organized the ICT infrastructure, which consisted of modems and devices cooperating with a wholesale number of SIM cards, ensuring anonymization of telephone connections and activities performed on the Internet and hiding the data of persons using it," Żaryn said in a statement in English.

"This infrastructure was used, among others, by foreign intelligence services for disinformation activities carried out in Poland," he added, as quoted on the gov.pl website.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the statement.
