In one of her career's biggest moments, the 29-year-old Pole outplayed the third-seeded Ukrainian 6-3, 6-4 in their second-round women's singles match at the grass-court Grand Slam tournament in the British capital on Thursday.

Linette, who is ranked world No. 44 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), will next face Spain's world No. 33 Paula Badosa for a place in the fourth round.

Meanwhile, Poland’s Iga Świątek has booked a spot in the third round of the women's singles at Wimbledon with a straight-set 6-1, 6-3 win over Russia's Vera Zvonareva on Wednesday.

She next takes on Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu.

Świątek in 2018 won the Girls' Singles title at Wimbledon.
