Tennis: Poland’s Linette wins Charleston doubles title

Poland’s Magda Linette and Slovenia's Andreja Klepač have won the women’s doubles title at the Charleston Open tennis tournament in the United States.

The Pole and the Slovenian on Sunday saw off the Czech Republic's Lucie Hradecká and India's Sania Mirza 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 in the championship match to claim their first title together.

The win marks the first Women's Tennis Association (WTA) doubles title for Poland's Linette, who has a world doubles ranking of No. 36.

A day earlier, the fourth-seeded Polish-Slovenian duo dispatched Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic and Ukraine's Anhelina Kalinina 6-3, 7-6 in the semifinals at the Charleston Open.
