The latest deaths in Poland’s coronavirus outbreak are 6 people with pre-existing medical conditions and 7 others who died directly because of Covid-19, the health ministry said on Monday morning.

Police have recommended wearing face masks at cemeteries, which is not mandatory, to exercise special caution to safeguard against infection on Monday when people drive to graveyards in droves to observe All Saints’ Day.

The Polish health ministry also announced that 7,204 Covid-19 patients were in hospitals nationwide, 603 of them on ventilators. A further 267,276 people are quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure, over 15,000 more than the previous day.

Meanwhile, 2,713,002 people have now recovered from Covid-19 throughout the country, the health ministry also said.

On April 8, the country reported its highest daily toll of 954 deaths related to the coronavirus.

Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
